Everyday Thoughts
& Strange Ideas.

Good morning, my name’s Thalida (pronouns she/her), I’m a queer first generation Trinidadian-American software engineer based in New York.

Over 10 years ago for my 16th birthday I desperately wanted one thing: a domain of my own. I was lucky enough to have a supportive mother who gifted me, and over the years this site has allowed me to grow in the most amazing ways.

This domain allows me to practice and learn, break things and experiment, grow and challenge myself in ways that have fewer consequences than messing around on a domain someone else owns.

Here I am able to push myself as an engineer, designer, and writer. Which is all to say: if it’s ever broken, janky, or weird, I’m probably in the process of learning something new, and you’re coming along for the ride with me! 😂

I’ve come a long way since 16 year old me, I’m now an Engineering Manager on Discovery at Etsy (we’re hiring!)

Outside of work I build robots with my partner, work on one of my (way too many) side projects, play MarioKart, and discuss identities, intersectionality, and inclusivity. And hike, lots and lots of hiking, getting away and being disconnected is a critical part of my life. (shockingly enough)

If you're interested in connecting, chatting, or keeping up to date with my work:

(Fun Fact: I’m generally full of questions and bubble tea.)
